23 Mar An update from DREMC President and CEO Scott Spence regarding COVID-19
DREMC Members:
At the current time, the world in which we live is filled with uncertainty. With the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19), breaking news and announcements have been coming at us at an accelerated rate. Life as we know it has been altered, and our sense of normalcy has been disrupted.
At DREMC, we want our members to know we are here for you during this trying time. Our focus continues to be providing our members with the outstanding service they deserve.
What affects you affects DREMC as well. We have established measures to protect employees, members and your families, including, but not limited to the following:
- Lobby walk-in traffic has been temporarily suspended.
- Drive through hours have been extended in most locations.
- Fast, free payment options are encouraged by using our mobile app, online payment portal at dremc.com or by calling any office.
Additionally, Duck River Electric employees have been requested to maintain six feet of distance between all persons to help protect your family and theirs. If you see our crews out working, please understand if we maintain a safe distance.
Maintaining adequate social distance not only complies with local, state and federal guidance on this topic, but also helps ensure we provide reliable electric service and keep the lights on. Keeping our employees healthy means they are able to continue responding quickly to power outages caused by trees, wind, lightning and other sources of outages.
We are all in this together, and I am confident that we will get through today and what lies ahead. We appreciate your continued understanding and patience as we do all we can to serve you well.
With much appreciation,
Scott Spence
