06 Nov Crews make progress following storm, efforts to continue Wednesday
RESTORATION UPDATE: Electric crews have worked throughout the day and will be working late tonight to restore as many DREMC members possible. Due to widespread and significant damage caused by last night’s severe storm, some areas will not be restored until Wednesday. Safety regulations require that workers must have a rest period after working continuous hours like our crews have, so DREMC and other assisting crews will be sent home later today and will resume power restoration at daylight Wednesday. Those areas that may not be restored today include sections of the following roads: Knights Church Road, Highway 127/Morris Ferry, Penile Hill, Gum Creek and Monroe Floyd. In each area affected by the storm, some homes that received extensive damage will prevent service restoration until other repairs can be made by the homeowners. DREMC appreciates our members’ patience as we continue working to restore power to the Franklin County area.
